Carbonated Irrigation Assessment of Grapevine Growth, Nutrient Absorption, and Sugar Accumulation in a Tempranillo (Vitis vinifera L.) Vineyard

Iron chlorosis is common in vineyards grown on calcareous soils, and consists of a chlorophyll deficiency caused by disorder iron nutrition. It manifested interveinal yellowing the youngest leaves decreased growth production. Most Spain are planted so frequent, even tolerant rootstocks. In case Spain, Tempranillo accounts for 20.8% total Spanish wine area, with this red variety being most planted. The study availability nutrients essential improving qualitative balance wine, as it one representative our country. aim work was to evaluate how carbonated irrigation modifies soil pH increases absorption nutrients, well assess impact physiology composition grape. first instance, test carried out bare composition, evaluating three different levels water, seeing what response gave level. result showed that dose 400 ppm CO2 provided optimal pH. Subsequently, potted soil, evaluated cv. Tempranillo, compositions soil. Results increased impacting primary metabolism (acids sugar), plant growth, higher crop yield, grape ripeness. Given ability control ferric chlorosis, strategy could be an easy-to-use alternative iron-based chelates preventing Fe grapevine moderating chlorosis. This use synthetic EDTA or o,o-EDDHA susceptible (Vitis vinifera L.) vineyard less risk environment.
